How to Assign Proxies to Reddit Accounts: A Safety Guide for Agencies

Proxy assignment done correctly is invisible - accounts run cleanly, bans stay low, and IP correlation never becomes a problem. Done wrong, it's the single fastest way to lose a large chunk of your fleet simultaneously to a correlated ban sweep. This is how to do it correctly.

The Proxy Architecture Requirements

Before touching the ReddFarm dashboard, establish the proxy architecture requirements. Every point below is non-negotiable for fleet-scale operations:

Residential IP addresses only - no datacenter ranges
One dedicated proxy per account - no shared assignment across accounts in the fleet
Consistent geographic assignment - same proxy for the same account across all sessions
Proxy provider that supports sticky sessions - not rotating IPs that change on each request
Proxy validation before queue actions fire - not just at assignment time
Cooldown enforcement before high-risk queue actions

Sourcing Residential Proxies at Fleet Scale

For agencies running 100–500+ accounts, proxy procurement at the required scale means working with residential proxy providers that support dedicated IP assignment at volume. The key provider requirements:

  • Sticky session support: The same IP must be assignable to the same account across multiple sessions. Providers that only offer rotating pools aren't viable for per-account dedicated assignment.
  • Volume pricing: Per-IP costs should decrease at scale. Providers pricing at $2–5 per dedicated residential IP per month are workable at 100 accounts. Providers without volume pricing become prohibitively expensive.
  • Geographic diversity: Assign proxies from diverse geographic locations across the fleet. A fleet where every account resolves from the same city is a correlation signal even on residential IPs.
  • Clean IP history: Avoid providers known to recycle heavily used IPs. Residential IPs with a history of previous automation use may already carry trust penalties in Reddit's systems before assignment.

Proxy Assignment in ReddFarm

ReddFarm supports both individual and bulk proxy assignment. For large fleet builds, bulk assignment via import is significantly faster than per-account configuration.

1
Prepare your proxy list

Format proxies as host:port:username:password entries, one per line. Each entry maps to one account - prepare the list in the same order as your account import list for clean bulk assignment.

2
Import accounts with iOS identity captured

Accounts must already have their iOS identity synced from the token grabber .deb before proxy assignment. The iOS identity and the proxy assignment together form the complete account identity - neither is sufficient without the other.

3
Bulk assign proxies in the dashboard

In the ReddFarm web panel, select the account group and run the bulk proxy assignment flow. The system validates each proxy assignment as part of the import - accounts with failed proxy validation are flagged immediately rather than silently continuing on an invalid connection.

4
Configure cooldown parameters

Set cooldown intervals for high-risk actions at the campaign level. Minimum recommended values: 15 minutes between posting to a new subreddit for the first time, 30 minutes between bulk vote sequences, 24 hours between account creation events from any given IP range.

Pre-Queue Proxy Validation

ReddFarm validates proxy assignments before queue actions execute. This is a critical safety mechanism - a queue firing through a lapsed or flagged proxy is worse than a queue that doesn't fire at all, because it creates activity under a compromised IP that may trigger ban action for the account.

The validation check confirms: the proxy is live and responding, the proxy IP is the assigned residential address (not a fallback or different IP), and the connection passes basic Reddit connectivity before any queue actions are dispatched through it.

Geographic Consistency Rules

Account session geography should be consistent across sessions. An account that logged in from a UK residential IP during token capture should continue resolving from UK IPs. Geographic jumps between sessions - particularly to distant locations - create a session inconsistency flag in Reddit's trust evaluation.

When assigning proxies, match the geographic region of the proxy to the geographic region of the iOS device used for token capture wherever possible. This isn't always achievable at large scale, but it should be the default assignment logic rather than random geographic distribution.

Handling Proxy Failures

Proxies fail. At fleet scale, some number of proxy failures at any given time is expected. The operational requirement is detecting failures before they cause queue problems, not after accounts start accumulating ban flags from activity through failed connections.

ReddFarm surfaces proxy validation failures in the Fleet Health Dashboard - accounts with failed or lapsed proxy assignments are flagged and excluded from queue dispatch until the assignment is corrected. This prevents the worst outcome: campaign queues silently continuing to fire through bad connections without operator awareness.

Next Step

ReddFarm's proxy management system supports bulk assignment, pre-queue validation, and cooldown enforcement - all configurable from the dashboard without per-account manual setup. Start the 3-day trial to walk through the proxy assignment workflow on your own fleet.
